Living a Beach Lifestyle in Flagler Beach, Florida

Flagler Beach is a small, relaxed beachy town on Florida's north Atlantic coast, just above Daytona Beach and below Palm Coast.  The town is named for the former partner of John D. Rockefeller in Standard Oil, who went on to become a famous hotelier and railroad builder in Florida.  The population has declined somewhat to just under 4,500.  The peaceful 6 mile beach on this barrier island is nicknamed "Florida's Peaceful Beach".  Anyone who wants a laid back, bright beach town will find what they want here. It is on a barrier island and has a wonderful beach. It is a quiet and peaceful town.

This part of north Florida is not particularly warm in winter. Unemployment is high, and the town is small.

The average January temperature is in the high 50's, while the average July temperature is in the low 80's. Humidity is high in this coastal town on the northern Florida Atlantic coast above Daytona Beach.

For culture residents will want to journey to Daytona Beach, St. Augustine or Jacksonville.

The crime rate is about half the national average, with mostly property related crime.

Medical Facilities

The nearest hospitals are in Palm Coast (7 miles) and Daytona Beach (19 miles).

Transportation

I-95 runs through the edge of town. Jacksonville is a large airport not too far away, as is Daytona Beach (about 19 miles away).
