It consists of a number of villages and unincorporated towns including Woods Hole, Teaticket, and East, West, and North Falmouth - some with better beaches and beach access than other. From nearby Woods Hole you can take the Ferry to the pristine beaches on Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
The Falmouth downtown provides extensive shopping. Museums, art galleries, and museums. Spacious greens and attractive older homes make the setting picturesque. Falmouth is near the beginning of Cape Code - it is relatively easy to get to the mainland via a 4 lane highway. People come to the Cape for its beauty and relatively mild (for New England) climate.

There are some condominiums in this retirement community. Living in town offers many quiet neighborhoods; many have water views over the ocean, bays, and inlets.

It is expensive, and crowded in season. A lot of the traffic is associated with people headed for the ferries in Woods Hole
Climate and Physical Environment
Falmouth is on the bottom left (southwest) portion of the Cape, near its beginning. It is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and bays on 2 sides, and gently rolling land on the other.
Restaurants & Cultural Scene
Art and antiquing are big here. The Falmouth Museums on the Green have excellent collections and frequent programs. The Woods Hole Film Festival and the Cape Cod Theatre Project provide additional cultural activities.
