What Is Special about Babcock Ranch

Babcock Ranch prides itself on being an innovative new town built with minimizing the environmental footprint and offering solar energy and the latest technology. Homes and commercial buildings will meet green certification; the town is walkable and there is a shuttle to take throughout the community and the parks. Due to advanced design, the community did not lose power during Hurricane Ian. There was no flooding and minimal damage.

What Is Not Special about Babcock Ranch

This is a new town not fully developed, with a 25-year plan. Culturally there is not much to do here although there are festivals and outdoor activities.

Climate and Physical Environment

The average January temperature is in the mid-60's, and July's average is about 82 degrees.

Restaurants & Cultural Scene

There are some restaurants here with more planned in the near future. There are farm-to table choices which serve locally grown fruit and vegetables, along with those grown in the Babcock Ranch community. The cultural scene includes many events, a lakeside boardwalk area, and a band shell for outdoor entertainment. For cultural events and opportunities, Fort Myers is just 20 miles away.

Lee Health manages the Healthy Life Center that offers health club facilities, therapeutic services and medical offices.

Transportation

Getting around Babcock Ranch is not a problem-it is a very walkable and bikeable community and also offers car/bike sharing programs.
