The many large and small lakes in and around Leesburg,Florida are some of the top attractions of this fast growing town of just over 22,000 people in central FL. Many residents and tourists use the lakes for fun boating trips and fishing outings.The town is southeast of Ocala and The Villages, and it is located between Lake Harris and Lake Griffin. The town grew over 38% from 2000 to 2008.

What Is Special about Leesburg-FL
The Venetian Gardens waterside park (110 acres) on the shores of Lake Harris has been a centerpiece of the community since the project was built by the WPA in the 1930's. The town has at least 6 beaches on three lakes, plus a yacht club. There is a Saturday Farmer's Market. Very popular 13 mile recreational trail through town. Leesburg has many active adult and 55+ communities to choose from.

Leesburg is south of Ocala, north of Orlando, and east of I 75. Mt Dora and Eustis are nearby towns. The average July high temperature is 91 and the average January high is 68 (the low is 45). The wettest month is August (6").

You can take classes at Lake Sumter State College , which has a campus in Leesburg. The annual Leesburg Fine Art Festival features over 120 Fine Artist and Fine Craftsmen, Festive Food and Live Entertainment. There are other festivals throughout the year.

Medical Facilities
Leesburg Regional Medical Center serves the town.
Transportation
Leesburg is conveniently located north of the Florida Turnpike and east of 1 75. Leesburg International Airport has some service, and it is not too far to the giant airport in Orlando.
