Suffield is a charming New England town on the northern border of Connecticut, just below Springfield, MA. The population is about 15,000. It is home to the prestigious Suffield Academy prep school, the Connecticut Culinary Institute, and the International College of Hospitality Management. It has a classic New England downtown.

What Is Special about Suffield
Suffield is a cute little Connecticut town. The campuses make it feel like a college town. Crime is almost non-existent. Close to Hartford, Springfield, and the convenient Bradley International Airport.

It's a small town. Connecticut has high taxes and a legislature that has no interest in helping seniors with their high property taxes.
Climate and Physical Environment
Suffield is located on the Metacomet Ridge, just west of the Connecticut River on Connecticut's northern border. The average July high temp is 85. The average Jan low is 17. The wettest month is May (4.4").
Restaurants & Cultural Scene
The Kent Memorial Library is an important research center for source materials, records, and documents from north central Connecticut. The Dr. Alexander King House and the Phelps-Hatheway House are museums. Suffield Academy provides some cultural opportunities, as does nearby Hartford and Springfield.

Crime in Suffield is low - less than a third of the national average.
Medical Facilities
The nearest hospitals are in Springfield, but Hartford is also close with both Hartford Hospital and the UCONN Medical Center.
Transportation
Bradley International Airport is just a few minutes away, as is I 95. Amtrak is nearby as well.
