The proud home of Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim is a city of 353,000 in southern California. The Anaheim Ducks (NHL) and the Anaheim Angers (MLB) call Anaheim home, adding an exciting sports scene to the many cultural offerings.

There are many interesting neighborhoods and developments as well as some active adult communities in the area (see link at left).
Home prices are high, as they are in much of Southern California.  According to the National Association of Realtors, the median sale price of a home in the Anaheim-Santa Ana-Irvine area was $1,232,000 in the 4th quarter of 2022.

What Is Special about Anaheim

Anaheim is a large master-planned city that is made up of a historical district, resort district, and a redevelopment district, along with a diverse collection of communities and neighborhoods.  It is a college town, and has several medical facilities, sports teams, a downtown farmers market, and a transportation system.  And Mickey Mouse lives here.

What Is Not Special about Anaheim

Cost of living is very high, and home to Disneyland so lots of tourists and traffic year-round.

Anaheim's average temperature in January is 55 degrees, July's average is 74 degrees.

Restaurants & Cultural Scene

Although best known for Disneyland, Anaheim has many great restaurants, museums, galleries, cultural attractions and recreational opportunities.  Among them is the Bowers Museum that presents exhibitions from museums around the world, Fullerton Aboretum which is comprised of over 4,000 plants and is a resource for ecological and horticultural education, and Huntington Beach offers 10 miles of sandy beaches.

Crime here is just under the national average.

Anaheim offers all types of medical facilities.

Transportation

John Wayne and Long Beach airports are 15 miles away, and LA's International airport about 30 miles from Anaheim; Metrolinks and Amtrak provides rail service; OCTA provides bus service throughout the city.
