What Is Special about Hudson
A large area of the village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There more than one thousand acres of parkland in the city. Hudson Springs Park has a lake, a walking trail, a disc golf course, and docks. Cascade Park, Barlow Farm Park, and Colony Park are large neighborhood parks used for sports and general family recreation. The downtown shopping area in the Historic District is still actively in use. The Underground Railroad went through here, in fact John Brown spent his childhood in Hudson. Lincoln Ellsworth, a polar explorer, and also the only Hudsonite ever featured on a U.S. postage stamp.
