Coventry is a small town that takes pride in its history and has several sites on the National Register of Historic Places. Lake Wangumbaug, also known as Coventry Lake, provides public beaches and a state boat launch, and in the winter offers ice skating and ice fishing. The town is also home to Herb Farms and is considered a herbal mecca, and hosts one of the largest Farmers Market in Connecticut. The University of Connecticut is nearby for sporting and cultural events.
