Blue Ridge is a very small lake and mountain town near the gorgeous Lake Blue Ridge in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The town is on the border with Tennessee and North Carolina. The town has about 1200 residents. Blue Ridge is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Georgia. the Toccoa River, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the southern tip of the Appalachian Trail all draw tourists and from all over the United States and abroad. Climate and Physical Environment
In north Georgia up against the Tennessee border. It is on Lake Blue Ridge in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Average January temperatures are below 40. Chattanooga is about an hour away and Atlanta just a bit further.
Restaurants & Cultural Scene
Blue Ridge boasts arts fairs, gallery tours, exhibits, receptions, festivals, classes, concerts and plays produced and sponsored by local organizations. The Blue Ridge Community Theatre is in the renovated Hampton Square building. The Blue Ridge Mountain Association of the Arts sponsors the Blue Ridge Writers Conference, concerts in the park, gallery exhibits and more. The Swan Drive-in Theatre is one of 4 left in Georgia.
