What Is Not Special about San Ramon
If you were looking for a community on the sea this one will make you drive to the ocean. This is definitely Costa Rica, not the U.S. when it comes to amenities and shopping.
Climate and Physical Environment
The temperature is quite warm all year, given its proximity to the Equator. Because of its elevation just under 3,500', however, it is a bit cooler than other parts of the country. The rainy season is from June to October, during which frequent rains are a given.

San Ramon is a large enough town that there are restaurants to choose from. The Alberto Manuel Brenes Biological Reserve is here.
Crime
There is some property crime. Many expats live in gated communities or have some type of security.
Medical Facilities
For more serious medical attention one would go to San Jose where there is quality health care available.
Transportation
San Ramon, has country roads that take you up the mountain to an elevation of about 3,700 feet. The nearest airport is Juan Santamaria, about a 40 minute drive.
