Very charming village in the midst of Virginia suburbia - yet close to DC and great shopping. The Occoquan River is very nice.
What Is Not Special about Occoquan
It is expensive, and once you get in your car to go anywhere the traffic is bad.
Climate and Physical Environment
Occaquan is in northern Virginia adjacent to the larger town of Woodbridge. Washington is 20 miles. January avg. temp is in the mid 30's, and the average July temp is in the high 70's. Humidity is average.
Restaurants & Cultural Scene
The town is considered a restored artists community. There are ghost walks.
Crime
Crime is virtually non-existent in Occoquan.
Medical Facilities
The DC and northern Virginia area has many fine hospitals and doctors to choose from.
Transportation
Nearby Woodbridge offers access to public transportation. The Amtrak AutoTrain is in nearby Lorton, VA.
